Hey Gang,
Happy Friday! Looks like this weekend will be amazing, I’m so excited for tomorrow’s wedding! I get asked all the time what happens when you don’t have enough time? I have to say that is probably one of our biggest worries as a photographer on a wedding day. 90% of the time I’ve sat down with the couple to discuss the agenda and we’ll get a good idea of the time-line involved. If my couples are having a late ceremony the first thing I will suggest is a “Reveal”
The bride and groom get ready separately, just like “normal.” When both are dressed and ready, we ask the groom to be in a place with great light and get ready to snap away! The bride is sent in and the groom turns to see her as she taps him on the shoulder. At that moment, they will completely forget
we’re there. We’ll be capturing every smile, every tear, every laugh and every kiss. Chances are, the “The Reveal” photos will end up being some of your favorites from the entire day! Bad luck?
That’s soooooo 19th century! *wink*
We’ll have more time for amazing, natural light portraits. If you wait until the ceremony to see each other, we’ll have no choice but to do all your portraits (Family, Bridal party and the Couple) after the wedding. This is no problem if you’re doing a mid day wedding, but for afternoon weddings it might get dark after your ceremony, our options for creative portraits are limited, to say the least. Having extra time before the ceremony for wedding party and bride and groom portraits when there is still plenty of sunlight makes for GREAT photos! The best part you get to your reception quicker & enjoy the cocktail hour with your guests sooner.
Here’s a look at the sequence of a Reveal
